Lagos State has officially inaugurated 31 executive members of the Grassroots Advocacy for Tinubu (GAT) 2027 as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilization in support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration ceremony, hosted by the Lagos State Coordinator, Hon. Mrs. Badmus Enitan, took place at the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Multipurpose Hall, Maryland Schools Complex, Ikeja, Lagos, drawing stakeholders, party loyalists, and supporters from across the state.
The event, organized under the platform of Grassroots Advocacy for Tinubu (GAT) 2027, with the motto “Forward Together with PBAT,” also featured the welcome of National and Southwest Coordinators to Lagos State.
Speaking during the inauguration, Hon. Mrs. Badmus Enitan emphasized the importance of grassroots mobilization in strengthening democratic participation and consolidating support for the administration of President Tinubu.
She stated that the grassroots advocacy initiative had been established for some time to support the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
She noted that the newly inaugurated executive members would play a crucial role in coordinating activities at the community level, engaging stakeholders, and promoting the objectives of the advocacy group across Lagos State.
The State Coordinator therefore urged citizens to come out en masse to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election.
“I want people to come out in a massive way to support the movement. I want a responsive outcome from communities, societies, friends, families, and well-wishers, even to mobilize more people for the upcoming election for Mr. President to return to office in 2027,” she noted.
The National Organizing Secretary for Grassroots Advocacy for Tinubu 2027, Dr. Michael Ugah, highlighted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s achievements during his first administration and the need for his re-election in 2027, including the NELFUND student loan initiative, reduction in food prices, and subsidy removal, among others.
“The President is working, and he is just two years and some months into office. He has not even completed three years, yet we have recorded such achievements. Talk less of when he is re-elected. What do you think the country will be? There will be stability in every sector; that is what we are talking about,” he noted.
Zonal Coordinator for the Southwest under the Grassroots Advocacy for Tinubu 2027, Honorable Ambassador Prince Abayomi Johnson, said the newly inducted executives are expected to demonstrate loyalty to the state by putting in their best efforts to ensure grassroots education, empowerment, and endorsement for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
Hon. Johnson also advised Nigerians both in the diaspora and at home to embrace the habit of praying for the country.
According to him, the moment presents a great opportunity for Nigerians across the globe. He urged those in the diaspora to project positive narratives about Nigeria and refrain from spreading negativity.
“This is our home. Whenever we wake up in the morning, let’s emulate other countries by saying, God bless Nigeria. We should stop raining curses on our country. This is our home, and there is no other place to call home. Together, we can achieve it. The President cannot do it alone.
“I am also going to use this opportunity to appeal to our governors. They should do the needful. The President is trying his best by providing allocations and entitlements to make their people happy. They should stop taking public funds abroad.
“Some of the money, even from past administrations, should be used to create companies, attract investors, and generate jobs. If there are enough jobs and infrastructure in Nigeria, fewer people will be traveling abroad,” he said.
