Kennedy Boboye Set for Akwa United Return .

Akwa United are set to re-appoint Kennedy Boboye as the new head coach of the club following the resignation of Mohammed Babaganaru earlier this month.

Boboye led the Promise Keepers to their first-ever NPFL title in 2021 but was dismissed the following season after struggling in just twelve games, which consisted of four wins, five draws, and three losses.

Since leaving Uyo in 2022, Boboye briefly joined Heartland but was dismissed after three wins and one draw in seven matches.

However, he was dismissed from the club after Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma mandated the reinstatement of coach Christian Obi.

He joined Sunshine Stars in February 2024. Nine months after his appointment, he left the Akure Warriors in November.He is set to be unveiled for the second time in Uyo.
