Female Councillor dies in Lagos

The Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has been thrown into mourning following the death of Hon. Zainab Adeshewa , the Councillor for Ward C3 and Chief Whip of the 6th Legislative House.

The deceased who passed away on Monday, August 18, after a brief illness was the only female member of the Council and the youngest legislator serving in the current assembly.

In a statement signed by the Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Seyi Jakande, the council described her death as an “immeasurable loss” to both the Council and the community.

“Hon. Zainab Adeshewa was more than a representative; she was a role model, especially for young women aspiring leadership. Her vibrant presence, resilience, and dedication to public service will never be forgotten,” the statement read.

Known for her commitment to the welfare and progress of her constituents in Ward C3, Hon. Adeshewa earned respect as a passionate advocate of community development.

Colleagues and residents alike have remembered her as a beacon of hope who brought fresh energy and vision to governance.

The council boss extended condolences on behalf of the Council to Shotayo’s family, friends, and constituents, assuring them of solidarity during the period of grief.

“Her spirit of service and her pursuit of a brighter, more prosperous future will continue to inspire us all,” Jakande added.
