A two-storey building collapsed on Wednesday evening at No. 4 Modupeola Street, near Mangoro Bus Stop in Alimosho, Lagos State, leaving one man injured and five others rescued.
The incident, which occurred around 6:00 p.m., threw the Mangoro community into panic.
The exact cause of the Lagos building collapse is yet to be determined, but officials confirmed that investigations have commenced.
Emergency responders, including the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) and Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), arrived promptly at the scene.
Five victims rescued from the rubble were rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment.
A 44-year-old man, who sustained a fracture and bruises after being trapped was taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Surgical Emergency unit.
He was reported to be in stable condition and has been admitted for further treatment.
The victim resides at 10 Olabode Street, Alimosho.
Authorities have cordoned off the site to prevent further danger while experts probe the structural integrity of nearby buildings. The Lagos State Government reiterated its commitment to enforcing building safety regulations to avert future collapses
