Leaders and residents across Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area and Ojokoro Local Council Development Area of Lagos State have commended His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeshoga Williams Adeyoola (Tomia I), the King of Orile-Alagbado for his impactful and people-centred leadership as he marked his first year on the throne.
The shower of encomium was done during activities at the Ruler’s first coronation ceremony held in Alagbado .
The celebration drew a large gathering of political office leaders., traditional rulers, community leaders, youths and women groups from Ifako-Ijaiye, Ojokoro and neighbouring communities.
Member of the House of Representatives for Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency,Hon. Benjamin Adeyemi Olabinjo, said the positive changes within the kingdom were clear evidence of the monarch’s effective leadership.
He thereby assured the monarch that Orile-Alagbado community would continue to enjoy government support.
The celebration featured colourful cultural displays and musical performances, while prayers were offered for the monarch’s long life, continued wisdom and a peaceful and prosperous reign over Orile-Alagbado Kingdom.
In separate goodwill messages, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa; the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, popularly known as Zulu Authority; and the Chairman of the Lagos State Council of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle Adio (Sego), praised the monarch for redefining traditional leadership through inclusive and development-driven governance.
They noted that within one year, Oba Adeyoola has demonstrated strong commitment to youth development, sustained advocacy against drug abuse, promotion of women empowerment and emancipation, and a firm stance against all forms of abuse against women, describing his reign as progressive.
Dignitaries at the event included Hon. Barr. (Mrs.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA; Hon. Emmanuel Olotu, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency II; Hon. Dayo Saka Fafunmi; Hon. ‘Tunde Oyekunle; Hon. (Tpl) Abdul Rasheed Makinde; Hon. Mobolaji Sanusi; Dr. (Tpl) Idris Salako; Hon. Dr. Adeleke Waleeh Ipaye; and Hon. Abduljelil Oseni.
Also present were APC leaders, members of the Ojokoro Legislative Arm, traditional rulers including Ndigbo cap chiefs, Community Development Committee (CDC) and Community Development Association (CDA) leaders, alongside youth and women representatives from across Ifako-Ijaiye.
